Docker
The easiest way: image for a single container or a Docker Compose stack with PostgreSQL. Recommended for production. Get it on Docker Hub.

Runs on Linux, macOS and Windows with Java 17 or newer – ideal for trying ProjectForge on your own machine. On GitHub releases (mirror: SourceForge).

Updates
Updating is easy: stop ProjectForge, start the new version. Database schema and data are migrated automatically on the first start. Back up your database before, and check the Migration guide for the few changes that need your attention.
Translations
ProjectForge is available in English and German, and fully internationalized. A new language needs a bit more than one file: the backend texts (a translation of the English translation file, format key=Translation), the texts of the web frontend and a small code change to register the language. If you’d like to contribute a language, please open a GitHub issue first – we’ll gladly help you get started and include it in a release.
